As an individual with high hopes of being independent in terms of career and business, you need to understand that the road of an entrepreneur isn’t like that.
There are pitfalls to watch out for and you also have to enjoy the process if you want to have an exciting journey.
Hi everyone my name is Timileyin and in this post i will be talking about the growth pains every entrepreneur should expect and overcome.
1. Being too overwhelmed with growth
Virtually every entrepreneur especially in this day and age has this mindset of just coming up with an idea, launching it and then expecting it to grow within a split second.
It doesn’t always work that way.
There is nothing absolutely bad about wanting to grow within a split second, i mean if everyone had that opportunity, it would be the best for growth.
The down side is this, as much as growing really fast within a short period of time is good you have to be careful how to grow.
You need to know your market, industry, niche, competitors to have a full grasp of how big you are capable of growing.
As an entrepreneur or business owner eventually you will have to decide how and when you want to grow which is a pain in it’s own self because of what it determines for you as a business owner.
2. The habit of saying ” NO “
A good number of people especially amateurs in the entrepreneurial world are not too familiar with the word ” NO “.
Most people want to impress and satisfy everyone but the truth is that you can’t satisfy everyone.
A wise man once said if you want to satisfy everyone then don’t be a leader, sell ice-cream.
You really don’t have to please everyone to get your business up and running.
Just know the set and kind of people you relate with and how to handle them and you will be fine.
Saying yes to almost everyone can jeopardize the growth of your business too just because you don’t want to get on the wrong side of that individual or because the person is affiliated with you somehow.
Don’t let relationships get in the way of your business.
This is one of the pains entrepreneurs will have to face and overcome for growth to be realized.
3. Taking the role of a leader
For you to scale up your business, you need to take the pain to understand and take the role of a leader. Please note that a leader is very much different from an owner.
An owner just looks at the business with the mindset to have things done irrespective of how it gets done but a leader gets to understand the nitty gritty of the whole process and taking all members of the team on board .
A leader puts his all in the business and also his emotions and resources to ensure the successful output of the business.
He ensures that the followers are in their right state of mind and also in tune with whatever is going on at every minute.
4. Having a compelling vision
It’s a great thing to be a good leader and harmonizing your team members together but if there is no vision, the idea will perish.
The business vision serves as a compelling picture of the future, it is what the whole team is working towards.
The pain here is this, while having a compelling and focused vision written on a paper or a board, it is quite uneasy carrying them out in the practical sense.
And there’s more pain in trying to bring all members of the team on board with the vision especially when things don’t seem to be going well.
