|Every business can only take one of two parts at a time, either succeeding or failing. Whether you succeed or fail at your own business rest totally in some basic factors.

Below are the things to avoid to prevent your business from tearing down.
The first is to avoid

BEING PERSONALLY OFFENSIVE
As a small business owner when starting out, you may be very popular and have a good image in the sight of people but when you take offence at everything and you begin to get violent, you automatically lose customers because your behavior is more important to them than your image.
You can be dressed in a three piece suit but when your behavior doesn’t match with your outlook in terms of handling your feelings when angry, your potential customers are then driven away.
The second is to
ALWAYS PICK CALLS
As a business owner, one of the things you need to make certain is the fact that you need to separate house from work. You should have different phone contacts perhaps in which you keep your most used line with you at all times.
In a case where you seem pretty much busy and occupied, you can manage your calls by having a secretary who can help you take those calls because clients are never going to keep calling until you pick.
The third is to
AVOID BORROWING THE CUSTOMERS TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT
As a business person who is serious about it, you will have most of not all the tools you need for your business.
The fourth is to
REFUSE LISTENING TO YOUR CUSTOMERS
You may feel like you have what it takes to deliver that target and yeah you do but as a good business person, some situations may arise and it may be only your customer that may have the right answers.
You can’t just go around making decisions on the business without having a feel about what your customers want because they are the ones that can actually tell you what is lacking in your business and how you can improve it.
The fifth is to
AVOID LEAVING YOUR JOB UNCOMPLETED
What do you want your client to do if you aren’t done with his work and you are past the deadline? If for example that happens to be the first time that individual is patronizing you, you most likely will lose that client just as the popular saying goes “first impression matters a lot”.
There are times when you have a lot on your plate and you have deadlines for each of those tasks, you need not rush yourself and jam-packing all of them at once.
What you can do is that you can set up a calendar and schedule your tasks in it making sure that you finish a task before moving to the next one.
The sixth is to
AVOID GIVING UP YOUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR SOMEONE ELSE TO DO
Whenever you are given a job to do, it is your sole responsibility to carry it out or at least supervise it thoroughly. It’s not your job to give it to someone else to do because you will be held accountable for its success or failure.
The seventh thing to do is to
AVOID NOT BEING HELPFUL WHEN SOLVING AN ISSUE WITH YOUR PRODUCT OR SERVICE
When relating with your customers, you need to establish some sort of bond with them and in doing so always try to identify any challenge they may be going through as regards your business product or service.
Once you have been able to identify them, always show interest in trying to help them and always listen to their issues even when the customer is trying to be unreasonable.
If your customers bring up issues relating to your product or service and you don’t have the full permission to help due to the fact that the issue is not from your business product but a related one, you can also help passively by giving the bit of idea you have on that issue.
