Just like every other business idea, you need to do a background study of the business you are going into and what it entails and also if there’s a market for it and the locations that are well fertile for the business idea to grow.

Before starting a grocery delivery store, you need to consider the following options.

  • You can reach out to stores in your locality telling them about your idea, then they charge the customer while you do the delivering. This idea makes you leverage on the existing customers of those stores you pitched to.
  • You can establish a relationship with the local vendor while you have a customer base, then your customers place their orders while you get the goods to them and get paid for the service rendered.
  • Another option could also be that you shop for your customers when they place their item list and deliver it to them.

To kick off your business, there a couple of things to put in place.

1. Communication

One of the greatest concerns you should deal with is the aspect of communication, you need to create channels or platforms in which your customers can conveniently reach you and pass across their requests to you.

You can set up a business email or a business social account where where you and your customers can interact and they can also see what’s available and their prices too.

You can also set trackers on your delivery mechanisms so that customers are informed on the whereabouts of their bought products.

2. Know your market well

In every market, there are always competitions and it’s your job to know them.

This is one of the first things to do before starting off your business.

This gives you the opportunity to know your competitor’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats.

To fully harness it well, you need to go deep when finding out about the weaknesses of your competitors because it will give you an idea of different areas that haven’t been tapped then you can leverage on that.

3. Be business conscious when making deliveries

When trying to make deliveries, you need to carefully plan out how i pt will go. Set time schedules for deliveries with respect to the locations where those goods will be delivered to.

If a customer needs the items urgently, make plans for how you will get that done and atbwhat price it will go for.

If you are shipping the item and it may require a couple of days for it to arrive, set out a reasonable day and date in which you will also be able to deliver.

4. Set rules for customer satisfaction

There are always complains by customers that items being ordered look more appealing on the screen than when they arrive at their doorstep.

You need to set polices towarss that and whichever works best for both you and your customers should be the one to go for.
