5 Ways to reduce your working hours in Business


We are always told, as entrepreneurs, to work smart, not hard, to allocate, and that if we work more than four hours a week, we work too much.

When the workplace shifts quickly, however, time zones blur into one and target posts shift regularly, is it a fallacy to be able to be efficient and still work less?

When we chase the elusive four-hour work week, there are aspects that can help minimize the amount of hours we work. It does not contain hammocks, palm trees and cocktails.

1. Multitask in sessions

If something was done with working from home, it made people want to take their time in meetings and do something different with their camera and microphones off.

After all, if all you are doing is barely paying attention, these stuff can be a massive waste of time.

And while yes, it could be good to get a workout or make a meal during a meeting, it could be problematic if you end up being called on.

So try to think about what your light activities are for the day, instead.

Going through your email, updating your to-do list, checking in on your calendar and reacting to some short messages are all basic things you can do that will not fully take your mind off the meeting.

While always being able to give the occasional nod and smile, you should keep your camera and microphone on.

In addition, you will later be able to take all these items out of your schedule so that you can free up time for other stuff.

2. Know your work program

There’s a common idea that people have more time to work when they work at home.

The reality is that the average worker will have more work to do and less time to do it, and attending each meeting may not be helpful with meetings taking up such large chunk of time.

If you have a project that needs your attention or just need to catch up on some busy work and have a meeting that takes up that precious time, first ask the coordinator for the agenda and see if it will actually be to your advantage to attend this meeting.

If you can’t do it, people would be totally reasonable, and you might even ask someone to take notes for you at the meeting if you want to make sure you don’t miss something important.

3. Get a better hand

One of the best lessons that you can learn from running a company is that you can not put out every fire.

Research has shown that teams with higher employee satisfaction, creative actions and mission success also have leaders who delegate.

It may feel like every decision is equally significant, but that is not supposed to be the case.

When you work in an organization with a team of people, various skills will have to be split between the members, because there will always be someone who is best suited to deal with a certain problem.

To optimize and align your process, take the time to figure out which of your team members are best at what and use the information.

4. Work while on the go

In the modern work climate, one of the most significant things we can do is find ways to work outside when we’re at home.

After all, it has been clinically established that spending time outdoors has some main health benefits, and it greatly reduces stress and anxiety.

The habits we all used to have when we left the house now have changed and often even vanished from our schedules.

But it’s more important to find time to get out of your home now than ever, even though you’re on the clock.

If the weather is good enough, it might mean taking a call while you’re walking the dog or working on something outside in a nearby park.

5. Go Digital

The real way to automation is through software. Although not all of us are prepared to fully automate our Zoom meeting presence, there are little things we can do with tools that we already have to make the job we do more efficient.

Only look at Gmail and its capacity to plan the sending of an email. At first, it didn’t seem like this method might be super useful, but all you have to do is remember how the schedules of others work.

For instance, say that you are working with an international company and you need to send them an email, but they are asleep at the moment.

Why not intend to send the email before your workday begins to make sure it’s at the top of your inbox?

Or consider moving your business to a smarter software for project management that will help keep everyone coordinated and on track.

Working from home particularly can be extremely difficult at the best of times.

It can really hurt what you do by being trapped in your house for hours a day while working, and make you feel like you’re not almost as effective as you should be.

But you’ll be able to cut down on busy work with these five tips and give you time to do what you really want.
